Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahraini ministry of interior confirmed on Thursday (June 4, 2015) that it seriously takes into consideration the threats posted by the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) on social media of launching an attack on Ras Ruman Mosque today (Friday, June 5, 2015).

The Director-General of the Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security Directorate stated that in the light of following up what is being posted on social media which may pose a threat to the country's security, tweets posted by sources outside Bahrain have been detected, including an alleged conversation between a man and woman, claiming to be affiliated to the terrorist ISIS organization, adding that these tweets aim at intimidating and inciting sedition.

The director-general warned the citizens and residents of Bahrain of falling for these rumors and malicious threats, stressing that despite the fact that these threats are made by anonymous parties, the security bodies are taking them seriously and are still determined to fulfil their duty to maintain national security and social peace, by implementing a series of preventive security measures. He also called on the citizens and residents to cooperate with the police forces, follow their instructions and call 999 to report anything suspicious.

The conversation mentioned in the ministry of interior's statement indicated that a mosque near the diplomatic area was being targeted, referring to the mosque in the Ras Ruman area in the Bahraini capital, Manama, where Bahraini Shiites reside in.

One of the senior members of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, Majeed Milad, tweeted that Ras Ruman residents will fill their mosque tomorrow, adding: "We are sorry if others don't find a place to pray."

He further stated: "After the alleged threat posted on social media, we felt that our loyalty to Islam was being tested by our attendance of the Friday prayer tomorrow in the mosque."

Meanwhile, some groups began searching the worshipers attending the mosque early this evening (Thursday, June 4, 2015), as a precautionary measure to prevent any terrorist attack.
