Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): As they arrived to perform morning prayer in Bahrain's Al-Khaif Mosque (Al-Dair village's main mosque) (June 11, 2015), Al-Dair residents were surprised to see that the mosque's main gate was broken, while torn Qurans, broken Hussaini Turbahs (a clay tablet used for prayer) and scattered Dua (supplication) books were found inside the mosque, according to an eyewitness.

An activist from Al-Dair village said that the mosque contains only one surveillance camera which happened to be out-of-order, stressing on the need to install surveillance cameras inside and outside the mosque.

Following the attacks that targeted two Shiite mosques in Qatif and Dammam, in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, the concerns of Bahrain's Shiite majority increased lately over potential attacks on their mosques and religious gatherings. Meanwhile, the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the two blasts, urging its followers to kill Shiites everywhere.

Civil committees were deployed last Friday to protect Shiite mosques from any possible attack, and women prayer sections in mosques were closed for security reasons. Meanwhile, the authorities summoned members of the civil committees for questioning.
