Bahrain Mirror: Commenting on the statement issued by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Sheikh Ali Salman's sentence, the Bahrain Forum for Human Rights' Legal researcher, Logiana Dadai, said: "The ministry's justifications are void and lack any grounds, especially that the nature of the charges raised against the Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society which the conviction was based upon proves that Sheikh Salman is a prisoner of conscience detained for expressing his views, for the court's verdict was based on Salman's speeches through which he expressed his opinion."

"Sheikh Ali Salman is appreciated among international organizations and is not known for calling for or inciting violence,"Dadai added, further stating that the Foreign Ministry's statement is considered misleading to the international community and has no legal basis.

On the sidelines of her participation in the 29th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Logiana Dadai stressed that "Article 19 of The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and article 23 of the Bahraini Constitution call for respecting the freedom of expression which he is exercising with full understanding and awareness."
