Iran Accuses Bahrain of Stirring Up Tensions in the Gulf

2015-07-27 - 9:29 p

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Spokeswoman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marzieh Afkham, accused the Bahraini government on Sunday (July 26, 2015) of "stirring up tensions in the Gulf" after the Bahraini Ministry of Interior claimed seizing smuggled weapons from Iran to Bahrain.

Afkham told reporters that "it is clear that the Government of Bahrain, by repeating unfounded allegations, seeks to create a climate of tension in the region."
"Such methods are not constructive, and do not diminish the Islamic Republic's commitment to continue its policy... and regional cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism," she added.

She went on to say that the allegations against Iran have lost their influence and it is better for the Bahraini officials to review their methods instead of adopting a policy of blaming others.
