Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said that what was included in the Interior Ministry's statement concerning the Shiite cleric and former Member of Parliament, Sheikh Hassan Isa, is void under the provisions of the law. Therefore, Sheikh Hassan Isa is innocent of these accusations and the measures taken against him are void and violate both the domestic and international laws.

In a statement issued on Monday (August 24, 2015), Al-Wefaq refused what was mentioned in the Interior Ministry's statement, stressing that it was written "in an irresponsible language and lacked the simplest requirements and measures stipulated by the constitution and law.

Al-Wefaq added that the approach adopted by all of its figures, members and supporters is "Peacefulness". "There is no need to prove it every single day. The attempts to link Al-Wefaq's leaders and activities to anything other than this are an absolute abuse," the opposition group further stated.

Al-Wefaq also declared that Sheikh Hassan Isa "is one of the pillars of peaceful advocates. Accusing him of funding suspects of terrorist acts is an absolutely void and disgusting act, since these accusations have nothing to do with the Sheikh's approach. His approach and political role, which he began practicing and still confidently is, prove that the accusations he is facing are invalid and that they are a recognition of what is legally incriminating and prohibited."
