Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini court of appeals presided over by judge Isa Al-Ka'abi commuted the punishment of a Gulf national from one year to 6 months in prison and upheld expelling him from the country.

The Supreme Court had sentenced the Gulf national to one year in prison and to be expelled outside the country after serving the prison term over assaulting two policemen who prevented him from visiting a detainee at the Al-Salmaniya Medical Complex.

The prosecution charged the suspect with assaulting two members of the public security forces for and during their performance of their duties. The prosecution also accused him of damaging the mobile phone of the first victim and the gate of the Arabian Gulf University and publically insulting the two government employees.
