Bahraini Health Ministry Treated 3 Swine Flu Cases

Bahrain Mirror: Dr. Mariam Al Hajri, Director of the Department of Public Health, said infection with swine influenza (H1N1) is not life-threatening and can be treated as soon as it is discovered, as there are available vaccines and treatments.

Al-Hajri said that if there are cases of H1N1 in Bahrain, this does not mean that you have to panic and worry, as H1N1 has become like the seasonal influenza that can be treated and cured. She expected a rise in all kinds of flu cases in the coming period with the change of weather as the seasonal influenza starts during this time of the year.

Al-Harji stressed that three cases were detected in the Al-Salmaniya Medical Complex on (October 8, 2015) and treated.
For his part, Dr. Manaf Al-Qahtani, an infectious disease consultant at the Bahrain Defence Force Military, said that 56 samples suspected of being infected with the seasonal influenza were diagnosed. Laboratory tests proved that 26 of them were infected with swine influenza and all of them recovered.
