Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Fourth High Criminal Court, presided over by judge Ali Al-Dhahrani with the membership of judges Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa and Jamal Awad and Ahmad Al-Sulaiman as secretariat, sentenced in absentia three defendants to 10 years in prison over setting fire to two luxurious vehicles owned by former MP Ali Al-Dirazi, and damages caused to parts of his house. The three convicts are also required to pay together the costs of damages that are worth 51,980 BD.

The Public Prosecution had affirmed that the suspects deliberately set fire to two vehicles owned by the victim on October 23, 2015, endangering the lives and properties of people for a terrorist aim.

It also accused them of entering the victim's house at night and against his will intending to commit a crime.

The authorities claim that the defendants climbed the walls surrounding Al-Dirazi's house in Diraz at 2 a.m. to commit the crime they planned together, and set his first BMW car on fire by pouring petrol on the vehicle and setting it ablaze with a burning piece of wood, and then the second Mercedes vehicle caught fire. The fire then reached the garage beside his house and kitchen, and when the defendants saw how big the fire became, they fled the scene as they entered.
