Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court in Bahrain, presided over by judge Ali Al-Dhahrani with the membership of judges Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa and Mohammad Jamal Awad and Ahmad Al-Sulaiman as secretariat, sentenced 7 suspects to 5 years in prison over charges of joining an assembly, possessing Molotov cocktails and attacking policemen.

The authorities claimed that around 60 protesters near Sitra police station hurled Molotov cocktails at policemen, leaving one injure.

The Public Prosecution stated that the defendants on July 27, 2014 attacked, along with other unknown suspects security force members, acquired and possessed Molotov cocktails and joined an assembly of more than 5 people for the purpose of breaching public security, endangering people's lives, and private and public properties.

Since 2012, the known riot cases which are listed under the riot act have been amended to apply to the terrorism act, as new terrorist aims and pretexts have been attributed to these cases, such as the attempted murder of policemen, breaching the provisions of law and putting people's lives and properties in danger, in order to harshen the sentences issued against protestors and activists.
