Bahraini MP: Law Permits Cutting off Water, Electricity & Phone Network from Area Witnessing “Terrorist Acts”

Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini Member of Parliament said that the decree on protection of the community against terrorist acts referred by the government to the Parliament includes articles that contradict with the international conventions on human rights.

The MP Khalid Al-Shaer explained that "some of the law articles do not comply with the international human rights system and violate freedoms. For instance, a police officer can cut off water, electricity and communications network from an entire village under the pretext that it is witnessing terrorist acts."
