Woman "Threatened to Confess" Acquitted Yet Her Son Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison over "Sheltering Wanted Suspects"

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Third High Criminal Court sentenced a defendant to one year in prison over sheltering wanted suspects, yet his mother was acquitted of the charges raised against her.

The Prosecution accused the suspect and his mother of sheltering convicts (charged over political cases) during 2015, who were sentenced to temporary detention, although they were aware of that.

The authorities claimed that anonymous sources reported that the defendant and his mother connived at hiding them in a room located on a rooftop in Bani Jamra.

The accused lady said that the investigator in the Criminal Investigation Command compelled her to confess, and in case she didn't, he threatened her to do something else to her.

Bahrain's authorities punish whoever tries to shelter wanted suspects over political cases.
