Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Thousands of Bahrainis took to the streets on Friday (January 8, 2016) in Al-Diraz west of the capital Manama to condemn the crime committed by Saudi authorities who executed the prominent Saudi Shiite cleric Sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr. Meanwhile, other areas across the country witnessed an outbreak of clashes between regime forces and peaceful protestors.

Demonstrators, after friday prayers, held photos of Sheikh Al-Nimr and chanted slogans denouncing the crime, stressing, at the same time, on their demand to put an end to the Al Khalifa family's monopoly over power.

In Sitra, clashes broke out between protestors and regime forces who used shotgun pellets and tear gas to disperse the crowds.

Angry protests, which the February 14 Coalition had called for, were also held in other areas west of Manama, calling for the withdrawal of Saudi military forces in Bahrain and denouncing the Saudi regime's execution of Sheikh Al-Nimr as well.
