Next Thursday Deadline for Flights between Iran & Bahrain

2016-01-10 - 1:15 am

Bahrain Mirror: Agents of Iranian airlines stated that a number of companies rescheduled some of their flights and asked passengers to book their flights returning to Bahrain before next Thursday (January 14, 2016), after which no flights will be allowed between the two countries since Bahrain decided to suspend flights last Tuesday.

According to the panel of arrivals in Bahrain International Airport, 4 flights were scheduled to land at the Bahrain International Airport, two of which are Gulf Air flights from Tehran and Mashhad, and another two flights are from two Iranian companies from Mashhad.

More than one Iranian airline makes weekly flights between Iranian cities and Bahrain ranging between two to four per week of each company depending on the season. Among these airline companies are Iran Air, Zagros, Tapan and Mahan.

Bahrain's station manager at Iranian Tapan airline, Majed Al-Musawi, said that the company canceled more than 1,200 flight tickets for next month, during the holiday season when bookings to religious destinations in Iranian cities increase. He; however, pointed out that some passengers switched to other airlines via transit travel next season.

He further added that Iranian Tapan airline will return around 500 passengers to Bahrain via direct flights, and that a small number of passengers don't want to return by next Wednesday January 13, 2016; the deadline allowing flights between Iran and Bahrain.
