Bahrain Mirror: Poultry Producers Co-Operative Society raised a memorandum to Delmon Poultry Company and another to the Department of Agriculture in the Bahraini Ministry of Works and Municipalities Affairs on behalf of 35 owners of poultry farms to demand reevaluating the price of chicken which the company purchases from them.

"This demand was made as a results of raising kerosene, diesel, and electricity prices, as well as raising the fees of migrant workers' visas, farm rents, obliging farmers to install surveillance cameras, in addition to high costs of veterinary medicines including vitamins, vaccinations and antibiotics and other burdens that poultry farms are required to take on", the memorandum stated. They further pointed out that some farms have been removed and others are being threatened to be shut down.

Al-Ayam local newspaper said that farm owners are demanding the company to buy their livestock productions at a price of one dinar per one kilo instead of 800 fils, which is the current price. It further highlighted that the annual need of kerosene for a farm now reaches 65,000 dinars following the petrol price hike, while it previously amounted to 12,000 dinars.
