Peaceful Protests Intensify ahead of February 14

Bahrain Mirror: The countdown continues in Bahrain ahead of the commemoration of the fifth anniversary of February 14 uprising as protests are being staged in different villages and towns across Bahrain in preparation for this important event.

After the February 14 Youth Coalition announced almost a week ago the "Al-Nimr Rebellion", peaceful protests intensifies in a number of villages. The coalition stressed on the necessity of the commemorating the revolution's start by holding protests and taking to streets.

A number of peaceful demonstrations were staged on Thursday (February 4, 2016) evening in Sitra, Maqaba, Bilad Al-Qadeem, Karzakan, Buri, A'ali, Al-Musalla, Al-Diah, Al-Dair, Bani Jamra, Sadad and other villages.

The regime's security forces attacked two peaceful protests and fired shotgun pellets and tear gas in residential areas.

Meanwhile, protestors blocked a number of main streets during the past few days, including the Isa Highway (Isa Al-Kabeer) in Manama, the Bahraini capital.

The youth coalition also called for a rally "commemorating the anniversary of Abbas Al-Sheikh and Mohammad Al-Kunaizi's martyrdom and the significant roles they had."
