Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini High Appeals Court commuted Sunday (March 27, 2016) the sentence issued against an officer and two policemen from five years in prison to two, while acquitting three others who were sentenced between one to three years in prison. This is the case raised against 6 Interior Ministry affiliates over charges of torturing detainees and causing the death of one of them, Hassan Al-Sheikh.

The Public Prosecution accused the defendants of a number of charges, stating that the first three suspects, including an officer, deliberately inflicted severe physical pain on detainees they had held in order to extract confessions and information, on the 5th and 6th of November 2014.
