Bahrain Mirror: A number of Bahraini human rights organizations called for an immediate investigation into the incident that led to youth Ali Abdulghani's (18 years old) death, after he sustained severe head injuries during a police pursuit to arrest him last Thursday (March 31, 2016), the night before the Formula 1 Grand Prix kicked off.

In a statement, the Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD), Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR), Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB), and the European-Bahraini Organization for Human Rights (EBOHR) said that there were vehicles, involved in the arrest, that ran over Abdulghani twice, according to witnesses.

"While the spotlight shined on the race, the authorities used force once again to silence the citizens," said Sayed Ahmed Al-Wadaei, the Director of Advocacy at BIRD, stressing that Abdulghani was another victim of the race which doesn't end without leading to adverse effects on Bahrainis.

As for the head of ADHR, Hussain Abdallah, he urged "the strategic partners of Bahrain, particularly the US and Britain to be clear that they will not tolerate their ally's killing of youths."
