Bahrain Mirror: Coptic Orthodox priest Royce George, engaged in the pastoral care of the Orthodox Coptic community in Bahrain, has confirmed the donation of land by King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa for the construction of the second Coptic church in the Kingdom, Fibes reported.

The new building will become a point of reference for the liturgies and pastoral activities that will involve approximately 1,500 Coptic families resident in Bahrain and close countries.

The church has previously mentioned that the new building will be made of 3 floors and can embrace about 3000 persons.

Bahrain always tries to play the role of a tolerant country that allows all people of different religions and beliefs to practice their rituals. However, the Bahraini regime is still proceeding in its severe campaign against the Shia majority, that resulted in demolishing 38 Shiite mosques. Bahrain also tightens the grip on Shia in practicing their religious rituals, which prompted condemnations from human rights organizations, United Nations and Washington.
