Prosecution Charges Wife of Death Row Prisoner Mohammad Ramadan with “Assembly”

2016-11-14 - 8:42 p

Bahrain Mirror: Activist Zeinab Mohammad, wife of death row prisoner Mohammad Ramadan, said that the Public Prosecution interrogated her (Sunday November 13, 2016), and later ordered her release.

Through her "Twitter" account, Zeinab Mohammad clarified that the interrogation was based on charges accusing her of taking part in "illegal" assembly; a charge the authorities have recently been addressing at dozens of citizens in the country.

The Bahraini authorities have launched since last June the worst campaign since the Saudi and Emirati forces entered the country to crush democracy-demanding protests in March 2011.

The Bahrain Center for Human Right said that summoning activists by the Prosecution, and convicting them with charges, is a means to "justify" the travel ban imposed on them; a measure that received harsh criticism from the United Nations and Washington.
