5&7-Year Jail Term Handed down to 2 Suspects over Planting Hoax Bomb in A’ali

Bahrain Mirror: The Fifth High Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Ibrahim Al Zayed, with the membership of judges, Mohsen Mabrouk and Moataz Abdul Ezz, and with the Secretariat of Youssef Bu Hardan, sentenced a defendant to 7 years in prison and another one to 5 years and ordered the confiscation of seized items over the case of planting a hoax bomb.

The public prosecution accused the suspects of putting a hoax bomb on the public street on December 31, 2015, aiming at intimidating citizens.

The authorities claim that they received a notice stating that there is a strange body near the shops in A'ali. The competent party went to the scene and discovered that the strange body is a hoax bomb.

The authorities allege that they reached the suspects through "investigations" and said that the first suspect (19 years) admitted during interrogations the charges brought against him and led them to the second suspect (28 years).
