Interior Ministry: Crime Rate Falls by 11%, Drug Cases by 18% in 2016

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Interior Ministry said that "the crime rate fell by 11% during 2016, in comparison with last year." It added that "among the indications of the rate fall was the decrease in the number of car traffic fatalities to 44 accidents this year in comparison with the 86 of 2015."

The Ministry indicated that this reflects the efforts of the General Directorate of traffic. Moreover, it noted a decline in cases demanding rescue patrols by 21%, while drug-related cases decreased by 18%. The reports of the civil defense department also decreased to an average of 39%, while anti-corruption cases reached 30 cases this year in comparison with 86 cases of 2015."
