BDF Commander Promotes 2900 Servicemen, Meets NSA Chief, Salafist MP

Bahrain Mirror: Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF), Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmad Al Khalifa, issued (Thursday February 2, 2017) an order, promoting 2900 BDF military personnel, from commissioned officers to individuals and from various ranks, within the Kingdom's celebrations of the BDF's 49th Anniversary on February 5.

The BDF Chief had received in the past days many figures, among which were National Security Agency Chief, Talal bin Mohammad Al Khalifa, with whom he met Wednesday (February 1, 2016). One day prior to his meeting with NSA chief, the BDF chief met with Head of National Guards Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Wednesday morning, Khalifa bin Ahmad Al Khalifa met with Member of Parliament for the Salafist Al-Asalah Society, Abdul Halim Murad, who's accused of supporting armed terrorist groups in Syria. According to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the BDF chief discussed with Murad topics of "mutual interests".

On a separate note, BDF commander in chief visited Thursday (February 2, 2017) a BDF unit and got informed about its administrative and military readiness as well as its preparation and training programs. He praised the efforts of the unit's personnel, their vigilance and keenness to fulfil their duties perfectly.
