Labor Minister: 45,000 Family Providers Paid less than 300 BD, 120,000 Families Under Financial Support

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain Minister of Labor and Social Development Jameel Humaidan, revealed that the number of Bahraini family providers with 300 Bahraini Dinars or less in salaries, exceed 45 thousand. He indicated that this is the same number of families that benefit of monthly (100 Dinar) within the financial support program, or as known "[living] expenses raise".

In response to a parliamentary question, Humaidan indicated that the total number of the raise beneficiaries until December 2016, were 120 thousands and 584 Bahraini family providers. This number includes the providers whose salaries range between 0 to 300 Dinars, while the number of providers whose salaries range between 301 and 700 Dinars are 52 thousand and 793. As for the providers whose salaries are more than 700 Dinars and below a thousand dinars, their number is 22 thousand and 510.

Moreover, the Minister said that the living expenses raise provided an amount of 50 million dinars only, determined on the basis of the family provider's salary, which should not exceed 700 dinars. However, he noted that in 2013, news standards were set for the financial support program, as the number of beneficiaries reached 120,584 in December 2016.
