Bahrain Mirror: Information reported that the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif did not raise the case of Bahrain during his meeting with the Qatari Emir in Doha last Wednesday (March 9, 2017).

Information stressed that Zarif did not tackle the Bahraini crisis during his meeting with his Qatari counterpart, Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

An Iranian MP had called on Zarif to voice his protest against anti-humanitarian measures of Bahraini authorities against people of Bahrain and their highest religious authority Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim.

Sayyed Hossein Naghavi Hosseini, Spokesman for the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said in a statement to the Iranian Mehr News Agency "We expect that Zarif would discuss the situation of leader of the Shiite sect in Bahrain Sheikh Isa Qassim, during his visit to Qatar," adding that Iran has always supported demands of Bahrainis. He added that Iran sees that the government of Bahrain has to listen to these demands and meet them and sit on a dialogue table with the opposition so that relations between them won't come to an end.

Zarif met with his Qatari counterpart and discussed matters of bilateral interests and the regional issues of the day, according to Iran's Foreign Ministry,

In addition to exchanging views on regional dossiers and common concerns, the Iranian news agency said that the two officials talked about strengthening trade and economy cooperation.
