Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeals rejected the objection of an appellant and upheld a 3-year jail term against him over arson case.

The High Criminal Court had sentenced 3 suspects to 3 years in prison and 2 others to 5 years over taking part in an assembly in Manama and burning fir that reached two civilian cars.

The first-instance court said given that the first and third suspects were under 18 when the incident took place, it commuted their sentences and dealt with them pursuant to article 70/71 of the penal code.

The authorities claim that a group of protestors gathered behind Al-Nuaim medical center and blocked the street. Thus, the security patrols headed to the location to disperse them. However, the protestors targeted the patrols with Molotov, which led to burning 2 of civilian cars.
