Bahrain Mirror: The Sixth High Court of Appeals presided over by judge Ibrahim Al-Zayed and Yousif Bu Hardan as a secretariat upheld a verdict issued against 3 appellants sentencing them to 5 years in prison over burning tires in Sheikh Salman Street.

The prosecution accused the appellants of setting movables to fire on September 30, 2015 that would endanger people's lives and money, taking part in an assembly of more than 5 persons aiming at disrupting public peace and exposing private public means to danger.

The first-instance court sentenced the suspects to 5 years in prison in 2016. However, 3 of the suspects appealed the sentence. The court accepted the appeals in form, rejected it in substance and upheld the verdict.

The authorities claim that a group of protestors burnt tires in North and South Sehla. Police opened the street to the cars and started their investigations to unveil the perpetrators who fled away.

The police investigations led them to the suspects and the first suspect admitted taking part in the incident along with the other suspects.
