Bahrain Military Judiciary Confirms Trial Kickoff for Two Civilians, 1 Military Personnel

Bahrain Mirror: A governmental source (The call center) confirmed that the military judiciary will try two civilians accused by the government of "committing terrorist crimes".

The center indicated that for the first time, the military judiciary will look into a case of three individuals, one of them a military personnel, while 2 others are civilians accused of committing crimes of terrorist purposes. They are accused of planning to target military facilities and defense force personnel.

On April 4, 2017, King Hamad bin Isa ratified constitutional amendments that allow trying civilians in military courts. Yesterday, Amnesty International described referring detainee Sayed Fadel Abbas to the military judiciary, as a "serious blow to justice".
