Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeals issued sentences commuting and upholding the verdicts issued against 21 appellants convicted of assembling, attempting to kill 2 policemen through burning their patrol and damaging a truck owned by food company.

The court, presided over by judge Mohammad bin Ali Al Khalifa and Abdullah Mohammad as secretariat, commuted the 15-year jail term against 3 appellants to 10 years, upheld the sentence issued against the fourth suspect, sentenced 16 appellants to 2 years in prison instead of 3 and upheld the same verdict against an appellant.

The case contained 35 suspects, however, only 21 of them challenged the sentence.

Attorney General Ahmed Al-Hammadi had already mentioned in a previous statement that the Fourth High Criminal Court presided over by judge Ali Al-Dhahrani and memberships of judges Ousama Al-Shathili and Wael Ibrahim and Ahmad Al-Sulaiman as a secretariat sentenced 13 suspects to 15 years in prison, handed down 3-year jail term to 22 suspects and acquitted 5 of the charges of attempted murder for a terrorism aim, arson for a terrorist aim, felony of damaging public properties for a terrorist aim, assembly and Molotov procession.
