2017-06-30 - 3:11 am

Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini local newspaper Akhbar Al-Khaleej said that hundreds of containers filled with cargo have piled up at port after the website of the operating company (APM Terminals) was hacked.

The newspaper said that Warehouse 2 in the port is the only one working, and the containers are manually checked, and therefore is leading to a crisis as more containers pile up on the way to the port.

Moreover, Akhbar Al-Khaleej noted that the container owners will not pay any extra fees imposed by the company, which said it will charge land fees for containers present at port. It added that many businessmen with containers at port are approaching raising a lawsuit against the company, due to the damages caused by the delay of their products' delivery to their final destination.

The newspaper did not receive any response from the Minister of Transportation Kamal Ahmad, to comment in this regard.
