Bahrain Mirror: Local Bahraini Akhbar Al-Khaleej newspaper said that hundreds of Bahrainis traveling on Iraqi Airways have been stranded for more than 48 hours at Bahrain International Airport due to a three-day delay, while Bahraini tour managers reported that they suffered heavy financial losses estimated at BD 3,000 per day of the delay.

Abdulaziz Al-Qallaf, a tour manager, said that over 3000 passengers registered with 15 tours faced an unknown fate after their flights were postponed, noting that they arrived at the airport at 8 am on Monday, and were scheduled to take off on Iraqi Airways at 9 am, The flight was delayed several times without clear reasons. He further stressed that they are still stuck at the airport until 9pm.

He explained that the delay of the Iraqi Airways flights is a result of an error in the reservation system, as the number of flights scheduled for one plane from Bahrain airport to Najaf airport were overlapped since the reservations exceed the plane's capacity. As a result, passengers are stuck for long hours at the airport, Of his 79 campaigners, as well as other travelers who are following six unknown tourist campaigns, have been suspended at the airport since last Saturday until Monday evening as they traveled late after a long wait.
