Administrative Court Rejects Invalidation of Chamber of Commerce Elections

2017-10-11 - 1:43 am

Bahrain Mirror: The High Administrative Court in Bahrain rejected a lawsuit to invalidate the elections of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board of Directors and nullify the election results of the Chamber's Board of Directors in Session No. 28, on the grounds that the President of the Chamber made a sudden change to the venue of the election.

The court stated in the ruling that the papers did not include what compromises the integrity of the election of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The defendants, in their defense brief submitted on 11/6/2017, admitted that "they did not challenge the outcome of the elections," stating that their lawsuit is based on the change made in the venue of the elections two days prior, "which does not entail any penalty or invalidation.
