Putin to Visit Iran on Wednesday to Meet with leaders of Iran and Azerbaijan

2017-10-31 - 7:39 p

Bahrain Mirror: The Russian President Vladimir Putin will make a working visit to Tehran on November 1, 2017 to attend a trilateral meeting with President of Iran Hassan Rouhani and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

In a statement, the Kremlin noted that Putin will also hold separate bilateral meetings with the leaders of Iran and Azerbaijan.

The discussion is to cover the most pressing matters of interaction between their countries in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The visit comes after a fresh round of peace talks seeking to end Syria's war began in the Kazakh capital Astana on Monday, as part of a Moscow-led push supported by Iran and opposition-backer Turkey.

It also comes after Moscow strongly condemned US President Donald Trump's decision not to ratify the Iran nuclear deal signed in 2015.
