Traffic Directorate Denies Imposing Fees on Unused Car Number Plates

2017-11-11 - 8:50 p

Bahrain Mirror: The Director General of Traffic Directorate Abdulrahman bin Abdul Wahhab Al Khalifa confirmed that there is no truth to what has been circulated by some media and social networks about imposing fees for keeping unused car plates.

He pointed out that the current number plates used on vehicles or those kept with the General Directorate of Traffic, which were not subject to the bidding system, are considered to be the property of the state. He added that the new traffic law stipulates that if a person wishes to do so, he must pay a fee of 100 dinars, after which he would have the right to do as he wishes with the number plates.
