Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court adjourned on Thursday (March 1, 2018) the trial of opposition leader and Al-Wefaq Secretary-General Sheikh Ali Salman and two Al-Wefaq leaders Sheikh Hassan Sultan and Ali Al-Aswad until March 8, for prosecution pleading.

The public prosecution accused Salman of colluding with Qatar based on phone calls he made with former Qatari Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, within the framework of political efforts to settle the uprising that was launched in Bahrain in February 2011.

The secretary general denied the accusations brought against him. Meanwhile, the Qatari PM commented on the accusations in a television program, stressing that the phone calls were conducted with the knowledge of Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and within a US-Gulf initiative to settle the crisis.

Al-Wefaq Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi affirmed that Hamad bin Jassim made two calls with Sheikh Salman, one of which was in the presence of the King and the other with the former assistant secretary of state Jeffrey Feltman.
