Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini aluminum companies have started paying the 10 percent US export tariff imposed by the US administration, officials said.

US President Donald Trump announced the imposition of duties on imports of aluminum and steel of 10% and 25%, respectively.

Hamed Al-Zayani, the general manager of Midal Cables, told Al-Bilad newspaper that his company had already started paying the duties, which he considered "high".

Bahrain's ambassador to Washington, Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, said on March 22, 2018 that his country was awaiting the decision of the US Department of Commerce on the mechanism for applying for customs exemptions so that Bahrain could apply for exemption.
