BCCI Removes CEO due to Contract Invalidity

2018-04-26 - 8:05 p

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain Chamber for Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Sameer Nass decided, in accordance with the mandate granted to him by the Ordinary General Assembly meeting held on April 22, 2018 in connection with the violation of the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber, the removal of the chamber's CEO Khalid Mohammed Al-Rowaihi from his position, due to the invalidity of the contract of work signed between him and the Chamber.

One of the chamber's members demanded the termination of contract of the current CEO, saying that he has ties and has already worked with one of the former members of board of directors, which facilitated his appointment with 8000 BD salary and half million BD penalty clause. Nass then ended to session to discuss Al-Rowaihi's work contract.

After discussions with the chamber's director of legal affairs "it was shown that the CEO Khalid Mohammed Al-Rowaihi's name is enlisted in voters list as a representative of "Hafeera" contracting company". This is considered a violation to the law which stipulates that the Chamber's CEO shall not be a member of the chamber.
