3-Month Jail Term Issued against anyone who Extends Electrical Cables without Permission

Bahrain Mirror: King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified and issued law imprisoning anyone who extends electrical cables without obtaining the necessary permission for 3 months and imposing a 2000 BD fine against him.

Law 40/2018 stipulated adding a new Article 6 (ditto) to the Law Decree 1/1996 regarding electricity and water as follows:

Article 6 (ditto): Anyone who extends electrical cables without obtaining the necessary permission or incompatible with safety specifications will be penalized with a fine not exceeding BD 1000 for having violated the rules, resolutions and regulations in implementation of the provisions of this law; and, in case of recurrence, will be imprisoned for a period not exceeding three months or a fine not exceeding BD 2000 or both penalties.
