Bahrain Mirror: Spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry Bahram Qassemi dismissed Bahraini security agency's claims that it had arrested 14 Iranian nationals for illegal entry with fake passports, Fars News Agency reported.

Bahraini Ministry of Interior, represented by the Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, announced the arrest of 14 Iranians for entering Bahrain on forged Asian passports with fake names, adding that their employers have been summoned.

Investigations showed that the suspects are Iranians who had bought the passports to enter Bahrain in coordination with Bahrainis of Iranian origin.

Qassemi considered that the news can't be confirmed due to lack of details.

He stressed that this cannot be corroborated just by the claim that these people are originally Iranian and have entered Bahrain with forged passports.

He added that no documents have been presented to Iran about the Iranian origin of those detained.

Qassemi also reminded that Iran and Bahrain have cut off ties since several years ago, and said, "Therefore, no visas are issued by the Manama government for the Iranian citizens and principally no exchanges are made between the two countries and there is no possibility for the Iranian citizens to visit Bahrain."
