Foreign Affairs Minister Criticizes Qatar’s Issuing of Law Regulating Right to Political Asylum

2018-09-11 - 6:19 am

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa criticized the Emir of Qatar's first law on political asylum in the Gulf region, considering that Qatar violates Riyadh's resolutions signed in 2014.

"While the four countries are making  their demands clear to solve the crisis in Qatar, Qatar is putting obstacles, spreading lies and enacting laws that welcome those who conspire against their homeland, in apparent hostility and clear breaches of the Riyadh Agreements," the foreign minister said via his Twitter account.

The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, issued on Tuesday (September 4, 2018) a law granting permanent residency and another one to regulate political asylum in the country, and third one regarding the organization and departure of expatriates.
