Bahrain Mirror: Palestinian poet and political science professor in the US Abeer Kayed apologized from participating in a cultural event in Sheikh Ebrahim center in Bahrain due to safety reasons, following her severe criticism to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, over the case of journalist Jamal Kashoggi's murder.

Kayed said in a tweet "I apologize for the Kingdom of Bahrain and Sheikha Mai Al Khalifa director of Sheikh Ebrahim Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research in Bahrain for not accepting their invitation to take part in the cultural event that continues until next May, because I asked them if they could guarantee my safety and security during my visit to Bahrain, but they didn't answer."

Since Khashoggi's killing, Kayed has been calling on for an uprising against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to topple him.
