Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said that the Bahraini regime arrested dozens of citizens during the past few days for fear of people taking to the streets.

It explained in a statement on Friday (November 15, 2019) that the Bahraini regime raided dozens of houses in all the governorates of Bahrain and in different villages and areas and arrested scores of citizens illegally using all means of terror while raiding the houses at midnight, noting that the arrested were taken to "unknown and unclear locations" and prevented access to and follow-up of lawyers.

The society said that the Bahraini regime is practicing the maximum level of repression to prevent any voice, stance or word from being expressed regarding the authoritarian and tyrannical reality that controls the country. It added that the recent arrests are unclear, and are believed to have been carried out with the aim of intimidating the Bahrainis and preventing them from exploding and taking to the streets, especially that there is a regional atmosphere going in this direction.

Al-Wefaq blamed international bodies for the deterioration of the humanitarian situation and the high level of repression and tyranny in Bahrain as a result of the international, and particularly the US, support through stances and reports that encourage the regime to oppress, continue to tyrannize, spread the culture of official hatred and violate the freedoms of unarmed citizens.
