Bahrain Mirror: Sheikh Abdullah Al-Daqaq, a professor in Ḥawzah in Qom (a seminary where Shi'a Muslim scholars are educated), said he has received a direct call from Sheikh Abduljalil Al-Moqdad, who has been serving a life sentence in Jaw Central Prison since 2011.

"His Eminence Sheikh Abduljalil Al-Moqdad has declared his support for his Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim and called on the opposition to stand by him," Sheikh Al-Daqaq reported.

He said in a series of tweets "I received a call from Jaw prison in Bahrain at 4:33 pm, Iran time, (today) Sunday, on the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) 24-10-2021, and the speaker was my professor Sheikh Abduljalil Al-Moqdad. He announced his support for his Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim and called on the opposition to stand by him."

"His Eminence Sheikh Abduljalil Al-Moqdad assured me in his call today from Jaw Central Prison that he was and still see the support of his Eminence Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim and calls on the opposition to stand by him," he said.

"He asked me to reveal his opinion to everyone, that's why he called me to inform me about his opinion. May God release him."

He added "the call of his Eminence Sheikh Abduljalil Al-Moqdad today from Jaw Prison comes at a sensitive stage and a historic turning point in Bahrain."

Sheikh Al-Daqaq said: "The most important point in Sheikh Abduljalil's call is his saying: (We are following all the stances and statements of Sheikh Isa, especially the last ones. We support all his stances and statements, and we recommend that everyone stand by him and support him, especially the opposition."

He ended his tweets by saying that "Sheikh Abduljalil's call lasted for 5 minutes, during which he seized the opportunity to stress on unity of rank. He quoted Imam Ali's words from Nahj Al-Balagha book on the importance of unity and then said: Some may have a point of view and may see it right, but the unity of the word is more important, and the interest lies in supporting and standing by Sheikh Isa Qassim."
