Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Cabinet spoke yesterday about directives issued to the Ministerial Committee for Development to launch new investment opportunities worth more than $30 billion (approximately 11 billion and 311 million dinars).

Following its weekly meeting, the cabinet called to launch the new projects that include the construction of new cities, business and industrial areas, and projects related to the infrastructure, tourism, industrial, educational, health, housing, youth, and sports sectors.

The Cabinet stressed on following up major development projects within the Economic Recovery Plan, the value for which exceeds USD 32 billion.

Bahrain's economy was affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, contracting by 5.81% in 2020, while the contraction continued in the first quarter of 2021 by 2.11%, and then recovered by 5.7% in the second quarter of this year.

Bahrain aims to reach a financial balance between government revenues and expenditures by 2024, i.e., to establish a zero budget in which revenues and expenditures are equal without registering a deficit
