Bahrain Mirror: Former Kuwaiti Speaker of the National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, revealed that the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, refused, on the last days of his life, to attend the normalizing Bahrain Economic Conference, which was held in Manama 3 years ago, despite the enormous pressure he was subjected to by parties he didn't name.

Al-Ghanim said in an interview with the "Paperless" podcast that the late Emir of Kuwait refused to bow to pressure aimed at his country's participation in the conference, which the United States and Bahrain called for, allegedly to "encourage investment in the Palestinian territories."

Al-Ghanim reported that the Emir of Kuwait called him in anger, telling him: "Look my son, I am old now and I don't want to meet my Lord having shaken hands with Zionists, and now terrible pressure is being exerted on us."

Al-Ghanim added that he said to the late Emir of Kuwait: "Your opinion is the same as the people of Kuwait." The late Emir then asked him to work on Kuwait's non-participation in the conference

It is worth noting that the normalization conference hosted by Manama on May 25, 2019, was considered the economic part of the "Deal of the Century", which included depriving Palestinians of their rights to their land, canceling their right of return, and making Al-Quds the eternal capital of the occupation entity.
