Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) documented more than 120 human rights violations carried out by the Bahraini authorities during June. The violations included arrests, summoning of citizens, storming of homes, as well as sectarian violations, hate speeches, in addition to depriving political prisoners of their rights.

Bahrain Center for Human Rights documented in its report that the security authorities summoned 15 people and arrested 8 others. Between June 9 and June 16, the authorities besieged the Diraz region intensively and prevented some worshipers from reaching the Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Diraz by setting up checkpoints at the entrances to the region and checking the identities of the entrants. On June 16, they also prevented Sheikh "Fadel Al-Zaki" from entering the region to deliver a jurisprudential lecture before performing Friday prayers.

The center counted many sectarian violations that affected Shiite citizens during the month of June, the most prominent of which was on June 8 when the security authorities prevented the holding of a worship event in the Iskan A'ali area.

The month of June also witnessed an attack on the mosque and shrine of "Sa'asa'a bin Souhan" in the Askar area, where the security authorities closed its entrance with blocks after a popular campaign calling for its opening and rehabilitation.

The center monitored the growth of hate speech against the Shiite community in their beliefs by the preacher of Al-Fateh Mosque, Sheikh Adnan Al-Qattan, with regard to visiting shrines.

It also monitored the organization of no less than 40 marches and vigils in separate areas of the country, in solidarity with the martyrs, detainees and political figures.

Concerning the conditions of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, the month of June witnessed a series of unfortunate events inside Jaw Central and Dry Dock prisons, the most prominent of which were:

-          Prisoner of Conscience Dr. Abduljalil Al-Singace, who has been on solid food strike for two years, stopped visits and family contacts in protest of medical negligence after the authorities had previously prevented him from meeting the Red Cross.
