Bahrain Mirror: The authorities continued their attacks on the Ashura manifestations and their restrictions on citizens participating in Ashura rituals in several Bahraini areas. On Thursday, July 27, 2023, armed forces dressed in civilian clothes removed mourning flags and black banners from Al-Markh, Salmabad, Saar, Al-Ghuraifa, Barbar, Karzakan, Al-Malikiyah, Iskan A'ali, Hamad Town, Abu Saiba, Al-Shakhoura and Sanabis.

Security forces and armed members dressed in civilian clothes removed mourning flags and black banners from several villages, while forces led by executioner Turki Al-Majid prevented the launch of the Salmabad condolence procession under the pretext of hanging a photo of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim and took photos of the Al-Markh condolence procession to harass participants.

They also stormed Sanabis to remove Ashura manifestations. Meanwhile, Interior Ministry vehicles and other civilian vehicles carrying members dressed in civilian clothes roamed the streets around the Imam Al-Rida obsequy, according to Rasd Network.

Al-Wefaq confirmed in a tweet that "the attacks on the Ashura manifestations come within the series of sectarian persecution against Shiite citizens."

The authorities released the youths they arrested from A'ali on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, after the Interior Ministry ordered them to hand over the mourning flags and black banners for Ashura, as well as the equipment they use to install them.

The security forces attacked Ashura manifestations in A'ali, where they removed the Husseini banners from the main street of the village, for the second day in a row, 4 days after they removed the banners citizens hung on the roads to mark Ashura.
