Al-Wefaq: Testimony of Sultan Al-Qasimi Reveals Falsity of Official Narrative on Facts Linked to Historical, Political Events

Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq Society confirmed that "Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, author of the book, 'The Beginning of Al-Atoub Rule in Bahrain' has no secret or public relationship with the Bahraini opposition, nor with the citizens in Bahrain, and he is an independent researcher who has no interests with the opposition, and his testimony comes to expose the falsity of the official narrative about historical facts that constitute an entry point and context for political and historical events."

Al-Wefaq explained in a tweet that the book, "The Beginning of Al-Atoub Rule in Bahrain" written by the Ruler of Sharjah "irritated the ruling family in Bahrain for a few weeks, because it addressed the story of the arrival of the Al Khalifa family to Bahrain in 1783, dubbing them as "invaders" who seized the island from the indigenous."

Al-Wefaq added that "the official agencies have been working, since the beginning of the new millennium, to whitewash Bahraini history, and have used many writers and intellectuals for this purpose," noting that "this forgery has reached the point of heads of power claiming that no one is indigenous in Bahrain, and that everyone came from outside the kingdom, and that the Shia are from Al-Muhamara."

It recalled the news published by the Bahraini "Al-Ayyam" newspaper on its front page, on July 25, 2023, about the withdrawal of the book "Kalaed Al-Nahrain in the History of Bahrain", and mentioned its author "Nasser Jawhar Mubarak Al-Khouri". Al-Ayyam stressed that the book is not a historical document and does not enjoy any consensus. Al-Wefaq explained that "the book, which remained missing for a long period of time, and was smuggled to Kuwait over fear of being confiscated by British Chancellor Charles Belgrave, and is still in manuscript form." Al-Ayyam printed it in 2003, yet disowns it today because it tackles part of the ruling family's history.

Al-Wefaq said that "although this is linked to distant historical facts, it is no different than the denial of many of the existing historical evidence, such as the distortion of facts, the closure of the mosque and shrine of the companion "Sa'sa'a bin Souhan Al-Abdi", and the demolition "Amir Mohammad Al-Barbaghi" mosque as well as the many historical mosques, and the tampering with history and names of historical areas, and the war on authentic Islamic identity and indigenous history, as a way to conceal what discredits the false official narrative."
