Bahrain Mirror: Al-Menbar, Al-Asalah and National Unity Assembly denounced the statements demanding to change the holiday in Bahrain from Friday to Sunday.

The Bahraini political societies considered in a joint statement that "such statements are based on a lack of understanding, poor insight, and delusional arguments in the age of technology, in which most global financial transactions can be carried out with the click on a button, without the need to change one day to another."

They stressed that the virtue of Friday has been established legally and by the text of the Holy Qur'an, and noted that it is one of the fixed holidays maintained in Muslim countries. They went on to say that it doesn't affect any purpose, as it has become an established legal custom and a ongoing religious tradition.

"The call by some parties to cancel the Friday holiday and turn it into another [working] day is a strange and reprehensible matter that contradicts the spirit of Islamic law, legal objectives and Bahraini customs, and serves no interest or benefit," underlining that" it is rather devoid of interest and legal necessity."
