The health of detainee Ali Habib Yaackoub deteriorated in prison after he suffered a severe sickle seizure. Media reports confirmed that he was transferred to military hospital on Sunday (April 1, 2018) night.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) denied what was circulated in media channels about banning the sickle cell anemia patient medicine in private hospitals, stressing that the circulated news is baseless.

Family of detained Ahmad Mirza said that the authorities continue to prevent him from undergoing an urgent surgery to remove his gallbladder since a year and a half.

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini youth Kassim Mostafa Ibrahim Al-Saegh (27 years old) from the village of Al-Dair was reported as the fifth victim of Sickle Cell Anaemia in Bahrain on Wednesday (February 3, 2016).

Sayed Abbas Sayed Kadhem (40 years old) from the Bahraini village of Saar was the first victim of Sickle Cell Anaemia in 2016. However, Haj Maatouk Omran (65 yearsold ), from Mahaza in the island of Sitra, passed away on Wednesday (January 13, 2016) and was listed as the second victim.

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Society for Sickle Cell Anaemia Patient Care stated that two new patients were reported on Thursday (December 3, 2015) as the 30th and 31st casualties of sickle cell disease of 2015.
