Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Bahrain's Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmad Al Khalifa revealed on Friday (October 16, 2015) that his country welcomed 30,000 Syrian Refugees. It's the first time Bahrain announces welcoming this number of refugees.

In an interview with Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the FM said that "Bahrain, although small, has welcomed around 30,000," without mentioning; however, when they entered the island kingdom.

In response to a question about the Gulf's role concerning the refugee crisis, he said: "You don't see people lingering in airports...not because no one has come, but because this person who arrived is now with his family in one of his relatives home. His children are resuming their education and he is being treated as a brother and not a refugee who left his country."

"If there are no pictures of the refugees we have here, it doesn't mean that we haven't played our role. Our policy towards our Syrian brethren led to not having such pictures you've seen in Europe," he further stated.
